The ancient Hawaiian word ʻohana means family, and it’s the heart of everything we do.
Most people recognize the phrase from Disney’s Lilo & Stitch:
“ʻOhana means family. Family means nobody gets left behind—or forgotten.”
And while that quote is beloved, to us, ʻohana goes even deeper.
In Hawaiian culture, ʻohana extends beyond bloodlines. It’s your chosen family—your closest friends, your neighbors, the people who show up for you and matter most. It’s not uncommon in Hawaii to call someone "Auntie," "Uncle," or "Cousin"—because everyone is seen as part of the larger family.
